PORT CHALMERS BIBLE CLASS
Tho twentieth annual prize distribution of the Port Chalmers Public School daily Bible class was held last evening in the Salvation Amy Hall, ihe Rev. Wm. Grant presided, and stated that Ihe aim of tho class was to prepare the children for the battle of life, borne parents unfortunately sent their children forth without prayer, without a knowledge of the Bible, and without any preparation for the temptations they would meet in the world. Ihe Bible class was to help both parents and children. Short addresses were also p;iveii by the Rev. N. H. Emch and Captain Lord. Of the seventyeight scholars on tho roll, tho following were the prize-winners;— primary Department. —Isabel Miller 1. Dorothy Anderson 2, Peggy Agnew 3. Also: Lily Roberts, Bob Hawkens, Lionel Hawkins, Cyril Clark, Dorothy Cassie, Jean Gardiner, Harold Roberts, Marion M'Kenzie, and Avis Nimmo. Standard I.—Elsie Storm I, Margaret M'Leod 2, Venus Gibbs 3. Also; Margaret M'Donald, Tommy Waugh, Bessie Montgomery, Duncan Wilson, Alan Catchpole, Audrey Parker. Standard II. —Margaret Grant 1, Wm. Davjes 2, Graham Macdonald 3. Also:- Elizabeth M'Leod, Malcolm M'Kenzie, George Wilson, Emily Gardiner, Joyce Cashman, David Miller, Douglas Walker. Standard JlT.—Molly Smith 1, Joyce Webster 2, Mona Crawford 3. Also: Margaret Clark, Hubert Wilson, Dorothy Gibbs. Standard IV.—Susan Irwin 1, Molly Agnew 2, Gladys Anderson 3. Also; Lena Wilson, Gordon Wilson. Standard V.—Sylvia Moodie 1, Frank, Fordham 2. Standard Vl.—Bose Davis 1, Emily Wilson 2, Wm. Wilson 3.
