Lemon Peel Nougat.--Gather first of all the following ingredients on the kitchen table: —Two cups of white sugar, a half-cup of cold water, one-third cup of golden syrup, the whites of two eggs beaten stiff, one teaspoon vanilla extract. half-cup of lemon peel shredded, and one cup of minced mixed nuts. Boil the water, sugar, syrup, all together until the mixture becomes brittle when dropped into water. Take from the fire and cool slightly, then pour over the whites of eggs, beating well. .Add the vanilla, watermelon rind, and chopped nuts. Beat well, and pour into a buttered pan to cool. Cut into squares. Cheerio, everybody. BIG BROTHER BILL.
