BLACK BEDROOMS

One of Britain’s best known architects has just designed a black bedroom for a lady who is as active in politics as she is in letters (says a writer). Her original tastes are familiar to her friends, but the black bedroom has been her most daring conception.

The ceiling is black, with just a narrow rich yellow border. The walls are black, merely relieved by two brilliant colour prints of flowers on each side. The floor is black, with a black-and-yei-low carpet square. Her curtains provide the colour of sunshine in the windows. The specially-painted furniture is in harmony with the scheme.
