“ Renovating.”—The best way to clean the evening frock is to wash in petrol. Squeeze the dress, and work with the hands through petrol -until all stains are removed, then rinse in a basin of clean petrolj hang on the line until all smell has disappeared. It is best to do this outside, as petrol is very inflammable, and must not be used near a fire or uncovered light. , To successfully stain the floor you must first remove the paint, then use a dark stain, giving two or three coats to get an even surface. When thoroughly dry polish .with any floor polish.
