SAlLED.—November 8, Gale, s.s. (10.20 p.m.), M'Kenzie, for Wanganui via ports.

The coastal tanker Paua come into port‘this morning from Wellington via Bluff with bulk motor spirit. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge. The Gale sailed last night for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Her survey completed, the Katoa •was to leave Port Chalmers to-day for Westport. The Waitemata is due here to-morrow from Lyttelton to continue unloading Pacific Coast cargo. The Union Company’s steamer Kahika, which was damaged at Gisborne recently when she went ashore, has now left Wellington, after being repaired, for Greyraouth. The Huddart P.arker steamer Ulimaroa left Sydney yesterday with passengers and mails for Wellington, where she is due on Tuesday.

THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Wahine, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at '6.40 tins morning, and southern passengers and mails connected with the express. KARETU IN PORT. The Union Company’s steamer Ksa retu arrived at Dunedin this morning from Sydney via ports, and berthed at the Birch street wharf to unload the local portion of her general cargo. She completes later at Bluff. RADIO FROM lONIC. The National Mortgage advises that the lonic has .sent a further radio stating that she expects to arrive at Wellington at 2 p.m. on Tuesday next from London and Southampton. Sh® will land passengers at Wellington and leave again in the evening for Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff to discharge cargo. ROTORUA LEAVES COLON# The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua, which left Wellington on October 19 for Southampton, arrived at Panama, and departed from Colon on November 7. MONTREAL SAILINGS. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Company advise that the Canadian Conqueror left Montreal on October 26 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Tiniaru, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about December 10, and at this port about December 22. After discharge here she commences loading for the return voyage, completing at Wellington, Napier, and Auckland. The Canadian Highlander is scheduled to leave Montreal on the 26th of this month for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. MASTER OF TUTANEKAI. Captain J. W. Burgess, Assistant Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Wellington, has been appointed to tho command of the Government steamer Tutanekai, in succession to the late Captain J. Bollpns. On the death of the latter Captain Burgess was appointed acting master of the Tutanekai# PORT HARDY AT AUCKLAND. The C. and D. liner Port Hardy, which arrived 1 at Auckland on Tuesday morning from Liverpool, brought the following passengers:—Mr DouglasWalker, Mr R. Graham, Mr and Mrs R. E.
