When the bout had concluded Walker remained seated m Ins corner, and indicated to the officials of the Aow Zealand Wrestling Association that he desired to accept Alley’s challenge to escape from the crucifix hold. Jhe crowd had surged round the ring, and was urging Walker on. Alley, however, had had to be assisted to his corner and to his dressing room after the second fall, and he was obviously in no condition to give any demonstration. Alter a little delay it was announced that Alley was willing to place his favourite hold on Walker the following night or any other night that was convenient, and Walker accepted this on condition that the public was permitted to watch the demonstration. Alley s weight was 13st 6ib and Walker’s 13st 6;]lb.
