The Jackson-Dalo street connection was discussed at some length, and it was decided that the council be requested to negotiate with the owners in order that this land might bo im proved for the public benefit. The necessity for the cutting and destroying of noxious weeds in various spots adjoining residences was stressed by members, and the secretary was m stmeted to write to tho inspector of noxious weeds requesting him to take action, as these growths of weed would be dangerous in case of fire. The ever-present water question was brought up, and members expressed grave apprehensions as to what might happen if a fire should break out, with the water supply a mere trickle, as at present.
