W. STALIN’S POLICY AWAITING THE INEVITABLE CONFLICT Press. Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, October 23. ■ A sinister light is thrown upon M. Stalin’s policy by a series of articles which M. Bessedovsky _is contributing to ‘Le Matin.’, Stalin, in October, summoned Bessedovsky to Moscow and told him that the report which he had submitted on Franco-Russian relations, with special reference to credits, was not worth a kopeck, and that Russia did not want to pay her debts and could not pay them _ without totally transforming “ the mind of the class which animates us.” Stalin told Bessedovsky that whatever Russia was losing in interest on credits it permitted her to safeguard her revolutionary independence. “We are seeking to gain time until the moment comes for the inevitable conflict with the rest of Europe. The revolutionary push will then be powerful enough for us to come to its aid.”— Australian Press Association.
