THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. No business was reported or recorded at this morning’s call, and generally speaking there was very little change in the market. Bank of New Zealands still show a close market, there being buyers at 60# 3d and sellers only 3d away. Commercial Banks have fallen to buyers at 27s 3d, with sellers at 27s 9d. There were all .sellers in tho insurance section. Sellers are asking 35s 6d for Westport Coals, but buyers are not ■ prepared to give more than 34s 3d. The demand for gas shares was maintained, and an offer of 26s 6d for Christchurch received a reply of 27s 6d. Auckland Gases were wanted at 24s 9d, but sellers were silent. New Zealand Brewery shares showed a buyer at 87s; ..olders did not quote. Paddy’s' were quoted for the first time this morning, there being buyers at 4s 6d, and sellers at 6s 3d. Kildares have risen to buyers at 4s 2d and no sellers under 4s 4d._ Ohinemun Gold and Silver mines have inquiry at 9s, but sellers are holding off at 10s. Quotations as under: — Buyers. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY. October 23. At the wool sales 8,453 bales were sold. There was good general competition, and stylish wools were in special request. Greasy merino brought 23d. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from London, dated October 19: —Butter quiet. Danish, 196 sto 200 s; New Zealand, 178 s to 184 s; Australian, 175 s to 178 s. Cheese quiet, easier. White, 193 s to 1945; coloured, 92s to 935. KILDARE GOLD MINE. A cheering report was received by the secretary of the Dunedin Stock Exchange this morning from the manager and underground manager of the Kildare Consolidated Gold Mining Company, Limited. The report stated that the drive was extended during the week 10ft in good standing ground. The prospects were excellent, and tests taken averaged 21dwts. to the cubic yard. So far only one man has been engaged underground.
