The Christchurch ‘ Star Pictorial Annual ’ reveals photography on a high scale, from cover to cover the reader is bewildered by the magnificent views of the dominion’s noted scenic spots. As a memento for tourists who have visited New Zealand, the publication will bo appreciated, and it will induce others to visit our shores. From the Southern Alps (especially Mount Cook), presenting a wonderful playground in summer or in winter, with its wondet fill peaks, great glaciers, and easily accessible snows, to the impressive beautv of the fiord region and the forest scenes, with ferns m great abun dance and variety, all are strikingly pictured, and are a fine example, of the ilinMrator’s art. The romantic life of the Maori, blended with the geysers am. the beautiful river scenery of the WanaanM River, is disclosed within its na-rcs while the views of the famous hk*oiir:i». Bay of Islands, the centre of the swordfish and mako mako shark fishing, do not fail - to attract attention.
