A committee of the Alaritime Conference decided to recommend that captains and officers who are not engaged on watches should be excluded from the regulations covering the hours of work. PROPOSAL REJECTED. GENEVA. October 22. (Received October 23, at 10 a.m.) The proposal to exempt officers from the regulation hours was rejected by the shipping conference by 33 votes to 30.—Australian Press Association.
