Short Title Not Passed at Breakfast Hour The Government Determined Reform’s blockade caused the first all-night sitting of Parliament, which adjourned for breakfast this morning with the “ Short Title ”of the Government’s taxing measure—the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill—uupassed after seventeen hours’ debate. After the speeches of the acting-Leader of the House (Mr Forbes) outlining the hardship clause concession, and emphasising the Government’s intention to push the measure through in spite of blockading ' tactics, Government members and the Labour Party were silent, and Reform carried on the stonewall in shifts before a thin and mostly somnolent House.
