‘BETRAYAL’
EMIL. JANNINGS'S LATEST Laid in a village in the Swiss Alps, Emil Jannings’s picture, ‘ Betrayal,’ which opens at the Octagon Theatre on Friday, was filmed in the deep snows of the high Sierra Mountains at Lake Tahoe. Many, of the most thrilling scenes, including a toboggan slide accident, were taken there. Very important to the picture are two small hoys who have roles as ,Tannings’s sons. Every father and- mother will love them, in the sequences with the children is found much of the rich' human humour for which Tannings is famous. Minor part players were selected with care. Jiodil Rosing, Clara- Low’s
mother in ‘ The KgciV In! > is cast as Gary Bit players include.^ 1 ” r luocly. the duenna of .h—’ oong ’; Michael Visarolf. the chef of ‘Marqiiis Preferred,’ and Alla Moskova, a Persian beauty. Big, interesting sots and scones in which hundreds of extras Lake part, give the picture groat value. The wedding procession outside the village church, and 1 the night carnival in the snow' are outstanding.
