MORAY PLACE PARKING AREA.

TO TUB EDITOR. Sir, —According to report in your paper there is talk of abolishing this most convenient and largely-used parking area. As all the car parking places in the above part of the city are already overcrowded, this will be a most retrograde step, and will cause great inconvenience to the commercial community. Apparently the real reason for its abolition is being completely camouflaged so far as information given to the Press is concerned. Everyone knows that the main objection to its continuation comes from the First Church officials, and if its removal is decided upon, on these people will rest tho responsibility and inconvenience that will be caused. “Cars parked along this part of Moray place spoil the looks of the church and grounds,” and for this {esthetic reason the convenience and privileges of citizens are to be abrogated. It would be far more to the church officials’ credit if they gave parking room inside their spacious and beautiful grounds rather than interfering with the privileges of motorists. The only fault with this parking area is its popularity, and there are always more cars to park than there is room for. 1 have frequented this area for three or four years, and I have not seen any trouble caused to the people by the motorists. Trusting that the City Council will take evidence and make further inquiries on this matter before deciding—l am, etc., October 22. Motorist.
