—Vice-regal.— The Governor-General and Lady AlscO Fergusson visited various educational institutions at Wanganui this morning, and also the public hospital. _ J hey were entertained by the- citizens at luncheon, after which they attended a public farewell at Cook’s Gardens, school children figuring prominently in the display. They left- later m the afternoon for New Plymouth.—Press Association telegram. Ministerial. — The Hon. H. Atmore spent a busy week-end in tbc Waikato. On Sunday he inspected the Arapnni hydro-electric works, and yesterday he visited half a dozen schools in the Morrinsvillo district. He also opened additions to the school and a new' dental clinic at Matamata. Tributes to his work were paid by the different school committees, by whom gratification was expressed at the consideration he was showing to country school children, and at the now system which he had foreshadowed of training children along the lines of their discovered aptitudes. The Minister has returned to Wellington. Mr W. PI Reynolds, who for thirty years has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Perpetual Trustees Co., Ltd., has been appointed its chairman of directors. Mr Edgar C. Hazlett becomes vice-chairman, and Mr C. Stanley Smith, managing director of tho ‘ Evening Star ’ Company, Limited, has accepted a seat on the hoard. Tho Hon. D. T. Fleming went off for Wellington by the morning train. The Rev. "Lionel B. Fletcher was farewelled to-day by many members of the Con soil of Christian Churches as he boarded the north-bound express booked for Auckland. Dr Minnie Varley, who has accepted an appointment at the Nelson Hospital, left Dunedin this morning. Mr H. W. Jones was a passenger for Auckland by the through express today. Mr C. Amt man left by the north train this morning for Wellington and Auckland. Mr W. E. Reynolds and Mr John Dunlop (of Seaward Downs) are on their way to Wellington for a meeting of the Dairy Board. Mr George Bunting. Australasian manager for Canadian Nat,ional_ Steamships, Limited, and the Canadian National Railways, left Dunedin to-day for Wellington, accompanied by Mr W. M. Luke, the Now Zealand manager for those concerns. Mr A.
