Mr Hoover stated: “Mr Edison, using an organised system of laboratory research, has been one of the greal leaders who converted the pure physics of electricity into the taxable product of to-day. The Governments of the world levy upwards of sixty billions ol new wealth founded upon electricity, but the taxes on the new wealth are not the major accomplishments of this man of genius. They are the rivers of sweat saved from the backs of men and the infinite drudgery relieved from the hands of women. 1 ’ —Australian Press Association. VOICES HOUND THE WORLD NEW YORK, October 21.
