WHAT THE BOROUGHS GET ' £t,BM FOR DUNEDIN [From Ode Parlumektakt Kepoetse.] WELLINGTON, October 13. .The .Minister of Works (Mr Ransom) lias prepared statement showing petrol tax distributions for tho quarter ended September 30. The sum of £17,913 is available for cities and boroughs of a population of "more than 6,000 inhabitants. This figures represents 8 per cent, of the petrol tax collected by the Customs Department during July, August, and September, and the amount is payable ;iir proportion to population. Taking "into account the population in each case, the Minister has approved of the following allocation: — 1 Whangnrei Borough Council, £196; Takapuna Borough Council, £188; Dovonport Borough Council, £281; Auckland City Council, £2,810; Mount Albert Borough Council, £543; Mount Eden Borough Council £538; Onehunga Borough Council, £307; Hamilton Borough Council, £408; Gisborne, Borough Council, £376; Napier Borough Council, £412; Hastings Borough Council, £301; New Plymouth Borough Council, £414; Wanganui City Council, £685; Palmerston North Borough Council, £543; Masterton Borough Council, £233; Lower Hutt Borough Council, £319.; Petone Borough Couscil, £292; Wellington City Council. £290-; Greymouth Borough Council," £165; ’ Christchurch City Council, .. £2,415; Timaru Borough Council, £445; Oamavu Borough Council, £204; Dunedin City Council, £1.844; St. Kilda Borough Council, £224; Invercargill Borough Council) £543; t0ta1,'£17,913."
