DEATH IN DUCK EGGS
MYSTERY POISON IN ONE IN EVERY 10,000. At tho adjourned inquest at Mold recently on Janies Walker, aged sixty, who died at the Antelope Hotel, Rhydymwyn, Flintshire, Dr W. H. Grace, of Chester, said that the post-mortem examination revealed growths which belonged to a group of powerful food poisoning ox’ganisms. Some of these were frequently a puzzle to determine, and they nearly always proved fatal (says the ‘Daily Mail’). This particular poison organism was not found in tinned food, but for some extraordinary reason in duck eggs, and it was a complete mystery how it got there. It might be found in one egg in 10,000. Walker died from an infection of food poisoning. Tho coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
