Assuming the offensive, the Chinese forces recaptured Lahasusu from the Soviet military forces. It was attacked and occupied on Monday, according to Harbin reports. The Lahasusu battle was the bloodiest of any of tho SinoSoviet engagements. Tho Chinese losses are estimated at 1,000. in killed and wounded. The Soviet troops are believed to have suffered equally heavily. Gunboats, airplanes, infantry, cavalry, and artillery participated. Two Soviet planes crashed.—Australian Press Association.
