PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

The fortnightly meet in" of the Valley True Blue Lodge was held on Tuesday in the Albany Street Hall. There was an extra large attendance o! members and visitors. The lodge was opened hy WAI. Bro. L. J. Jardine, assisted by Chaplain I’.CAL Bro. Austin and I.PAI. Bro. Tl. B. Calbmd. The WAI. intimated that this was the evening set apart for the PALs and senior brethren, and it gave him great pleasure to call upon the senior PAL present to take the chair and appoint his officers to conduct the business ol the evening. Bro. B. Ayers, being the senior present, was conducted to the W.M.’s chair, and appointed the following BAl.s as liis officers; —I.PAL, PAI. Bro. R. Drysdale; DAL, PAL Bro. H. B. Galland; secretary, grand trustee, Bro. J, Harvey; treasurer, PAL Bro. A. .Madden; chaplain, PAL Bro. G. Rutherford; S.F.. PAL Bro. J. Sutherland; J.E., P.GAI. Bro. N. D. Austin; J.G., DAL Bro. S. Little; 0.G., PAL Bro. F. Tharan. The balance-sheets and quarterly returns ot the adults ami juveniles in each case showed a large increase. The auditor’s report was duly received after some discussion. After the business had been transacted the lodge wont into harmony. Many of the senior brothers spoke of the good work done by the lodges when the order was in its infancy, and heartily congratulated the members on the excellent position. The secretary, Bro. J. Harvey, also spoke. Bros. Bachop, O’Neill, Sincock, and Donga !l were heartily complimented upon the excellent manner in which they had rendered a comic sketch at the presentation night. A hearty rote of thinks was accorded to the visiting brethren, and was responded to hy R.W.GAI. Bro. C. Arnold. _B. F. Bro. O’Neill, and PAI. Bro. J W. Jackson. The singing of the National Anthem brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
