ENGLISH CRICKET TEAM
TO SAIL TO-DAY ENTERTAINED BY NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION Brew A9.oci3.tioc—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 27. (Received September 28, at 9.10 a.m.) The New Zealand Association entertained the Marylebone team at luncheon, prior to its departure for Australia and New Zealand. Sir James Parr flew back from Geneva. Ho said that the luncheon gave him a reason for leaving tho Assembly two days before the close. Nevertheless, he held a firm belief in the value of the League to New Zealand cricketers and sportsmen. Air Gilligan (captain) said' lie would not mention names, but tho team included two of tho finest bats in the world: Lord Bledisloe said ho was taking to New Zealand in December a team which would be batting against the " googlies ” of an economic policy in the shape of seventy British fanners. They would visit a number of oversea dominions, and would study up-to-date farming. The cricket team sails to-morrow. Gilligan later declined to say who are the two of the world’s best batsmen. The curious-minded forthwith delved into the list of names. The majority favour Woolley and Duleepsinhji; others would include Bowley.— Australian Press Association-United Service.
