Under cloudless skies and with a promise from the official meteorologists Of a continuance of the dry weather, London to-day experienced its thirtyfifth consecutive rainless day, this period exceeding any recorded in the capital for 105 years. The extensive high pressure area covers Southern England, and the sunshine total on the east of the south coast since the beginning of the month exceeds 200 hours. September also provided a record of high temperatures. Although the water supplies in the towns are causing no anxiety, farmers in some areas are finding the absence of rain serious.
