COLD SNAP

Heavy snow fell all night in all tho highland sections of the State, and some of the country roads are blocked by snowfalls. Manly reports a record low_ temperature, while the city of Rathurst .is snowbound Telegraph lines are down in some places, this being due, it is believed, to snow, which is also reported to have fallen in the Slanthorpe district, Queensland. GOOD PAINS EXPERIENCED. SYDNEY, August 25. Tho cold snap continues, with the addition of heavy showers all night and all day long. The latter are welcomed in the country, as they ensure good crops and plentiful feed for stock.
