ARRANT FRAUD
FREE TREATMENT IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS [P« Ukit*d Pftis* Amocutiox.l WANGANUI, August 86. Frederick Emanuel Simmis, alias Grey alias Reid, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment on a charge of false pretences. He represented himself as a wealthy farmer, and obtained lodgings and treatment in two private hospitals from two doctors. When arrested he was examined by the gaol surgeon, who pronounced him quite well.
_ Accused hks twelve previous convictions, and fas discharged from Mount Eden Gaol in June. He was described ns an' habitual criminal and an arrant fraud.
