BUTTER AND CHEESE CONTRACTS.
TO THE EDITOR.
gij- Witli regard to Wednesday's meeting of dairy factory representatives, to which the South Wand Dairy Association was invited, it should jf pointed out that it was Mr Y. Lee and not the association, by whom the meeting was called. At the last nieetof the Control Board m Wellington Mi Lee, as one of the four South Island representatives on the Board, lodged his protest against certain clauses m the proposed contracts, and asked the Board to submit a copy of the contracts to the various dairy associations and factories for consideration. Mr Lee's protest was over-ruled by the majority of the Board, > and he termined to place the position before all the factories that- he represented on that body. He did so at the quarterly meeting of the South Canterbury factories held at Timaru on July 29 and also at the Dunedin meeting. I’think it is only right that the above facts should be made known. — I am, etc., A. C. Camehox. August 17.
