THE ‘SPORTS SPECIAL’
A heavy programme of sport—racing, football, athletics is scheduled for to-morrow, and the ‘Sports Special ’ will be a very full issue indeed. A bare enumeration of the chief events that Will be fully reported gives sanction to the promise; Grand National week finishes with the final day of the C.J.C. Races; the Otago Rugby team meets Southland at Carisbrook; Walrarapa and Manawatu contest the Ranfurly Shield; Auckland and Hawke’s Bay meet at Auckland; Seacliff and Thistle meet at Christchurch in the South Island final for the Soccer trophy —the Chatham Cup; and the Otago five-mile cross-country championship will be run at Wingatui. The issue will be copiously illustrated, the blocks including action pictures of the Otago-Soulhland match.
