CENTRAL MISSION'S FAIR

Tho spring fair organised by the Central Mission was the scene of considerable activity last evening in tho Burns Hall. The beautifully decorated stalls, well laden with a choice variety of articles, received constant attention from the eager public. The night’s fun was greatly enhanced by the various competitions provided and the delightful music supplied by an orchestra. Among the attractions of the fair was a baking competition, the results of which were as follow; Plain scones.-—airs Lamb 1, Mrs M'Auslin 2. Pikelets.—Mrs Jollv 1, Mrs M'Auslin 2. Gems.—Mrs H. Johnsou 1, Mrs E. Lamb 2.Ginger bread.—Miss Swan 1, Mrs Stewart 2. Sponge sandwich.—Mrs Walker 1, Mrs. Howatson 2. Butter sponge.—Mrs Irvino 1, Mrs Boyd 2. Shortbread ■ and biscuits.—Mrs Walker 1, Mrs White 2. Toffee.—Mrs Scott 1, Mrs Ross 2. The fair was continued this afternoon, and will bo open again this evening.
