SPRING FAIR

CENTRAL MISSION'S UNDERTAKING An attractive, array- of well-laden stalls w«. to he sec. at tho Burns Hall this afternoon, when the Central Mission opened its annual Spring Fair. The fair was set out on a spectacular scale, with some fine spring blossoms predominating in tho effective colour scheme devised by the decorators. The mayor anil mayoress (Mr and Mrs R. S. Black) officially opened the function, and alter expressing their pleasure at tho large number of people present hoped that tho fair would receive generous support. The money raised is to bo devoted to the funds of the mission. The Rev. G B. Hinton was in charge of tho organisation, and ho had associated with him as convene''of strong committees Messrs Stone, Ramsay, Armstrong, Bush, and Johnson. A stall deigned as “The Old Curiosity Simp ” was a feature of the fair, while considerable interest was manifested in the demonstrations given on electrical cooking appliances. Tho stall holders are Afternoon tea and cake, Mesciames Mareth and M''Austin and choir , Ladies’ Guild work, Mesclame: Hinton, Cameron, Chapman, and Scott; art stall, Miss _M ‘Gregor and Mrs Morrison; groceries, Mesdames Dawson and Smalhnan ; produce, Mesikinres Coulter and Whites; jumble stall, Mesdames Williams and Patten; book stall, Misses Walker and Steven; sweets stall, Mesciames Irvine, Johnson, and Minn; work stall, Girls’ Bible Class. ' ...' , This evening, patrons will-be served with games, competitions, and amusements.. while music will be supplied by an efficient orchestra The fair will be continued to-morrow afternoon and everiug, whci largo attendances aio expected.
