Ail the timber yards in tho metropolitan area arc now fully staffed, despite the daily picketing. Trade depression, however, is responsible for slackness in this industry, and the volunteer labour is more than sufficient for requirements. The majority of the, volunteers are now quite efficient amongst the machines, consequently tho strikers have lost employment for all time. The police are still guarding all the mills.
