AO blame to driver A verdict of accidental death, m> blame being attachable to the driver of the lorry, was returned at the inquest at Hawera yesterday afternoon on th» body of Madeline Mack, aged sis years, who died in tlie Hawera Hospital on August 3 from injuries received when, she ran into a motor lorry on July 3b at Okaiawa. Evidence was given that the child was playing at the side of the roadway, and ran towards the middle of the road, where she collided with the side of a lorry, which was travelling slowly on the correct side of lh» road, BOY DROWNED IN BATHS. Late yesterday afternoon Patrick Lee Fox. aged five, was found drowned in the Wellington College baths. '1 he deceased had been playing about the college grounds with another boy aged three, who apparently was the sole witness of the accident, and it is not known how it occurred. The boys and masters tried for an hour to resuscitate the child, who is believed to have been in the water half an hour.
