(Received August Id, at !I a.m.) The centenary celebrations ot the foundation of Perth were held yesteiday. The city was beflagged, and the Governor (.Sir William Campion), in the presence of a largo crowd, unveiled a commemorative tablet on the wall of the Town Hall.

The Governor road a let ter from Lord Passfield (Secretary of State), stating that tlie King had conferred the dignity of Lord Mayor on the chief magistrate of the city. The first Lord Mayor is Mir J. T Franklm, M.L.' 1 .
