Notice is hereby given that the Green Island Borough Council, pursuant to the powers vested in it by “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, will, at a SPECIAL MEETING of the Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, Main South road, Green Island, on TUESDAY, the 9th clay of July, 1929, make and levy the following RATES and FEES for tho period commencing on the first day of April. 1929, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1930—viz. t 1. A GENERAL RATE under Section 77 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” of TWO SHILLINGS AND A HALFPENNY (2s Ojd) in flip Pound (£) on the Rateable Value of ail Rateable Property in the Borough of Green Island. 2. A SEPARATE RATE, to be known as the HOSPITAL RATE, under Section 10 of “ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1923,” of FIVEPENCE THREE FARTHINGS (s|d) in the Pound (C) on the Rateable Value on tho Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property in the Borough of Green Island. 3. WATER RATES under Section 82 of “Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” in respect to the ordinary supply as follows—that is to say; Upon all Lands and Buildings to which water is supplied the rateable value of which, on the*' Valuation Roll, docs not exceed £l2 10s, a RATE of TEN SHILLINGS (10s); exceeds £l2 10s a RATE of 31 per cent., or NINEPENCB (9d) .in the Pound (£), on such value. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can bft,, but is not, supplied, situate within 100 yards of any part of the water works, and upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for any purpose other than as dwelling houses, a RATE of ONE-HALF of (he RATES above mentioned. A RATE in respect of Hose Taps of TEN SHILLINGS (10s) per annum. A RATE of TWENTY 1 SHILLINGS (20s) per annum for each | WATER CLOSET. i 4, SANITATION FEES, under Section 89 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 ”: (a) A fee of Twenty-seven Shillings (275) per annum for the first pan, :'uid thereafter Five Shillings (ss) per annum for every additional pan, for removal of nightsoil on all- buildings used for tho purpose of dwelling houses to which such service can be given. (b) A foe of Twenty-seven Shillings (27st per annum for the first pan, and thereafter Ton Shillings (10s), per annum for every additional pan, for removal of nightsoil upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for any purpose other than as dwelling houses, to which such service can bo given. . Tho above Rates arc payable in one sum, and in each case on the 26th day of AUGUST, 1929, at, the Office of tho Green Island Borough Council, Council Chambers, j Main South road, Green Island, and tho additional charge of TEN PER CENTUM (10 per cent.)' provided for by Section 67 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” will bo imposed on all such Rates remaining unpaid after the 26th day of February, 1930. i And, further, PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the powers vested in it by Section (54 of “ The j Rating Act, 1925,” and in pursuance of a resolution passed at tho Ordinary MonthlyMeeting of the Green Island Borough Council, held on the 2nd Day of JULY, 1929, a REBATE OF FIVE (5) PER CENTUM will bo allowed on the General Rate if the Rates are paid on or before the ELEVENTH DAY of SEPTEMBER, 1929.
