BOWLING CLUBS
A TOTAL CF 314 According to an official return furnished by the dominion of New Zealand Rowling . Association, there were last season (1925-29) 314 bowling clubs in New Zealand, with an aggregate membership of 16,086. Of these clubs, 186 were in the North Island, with a membership of 10,328. and 128 clubs with a membership of 5,758 wore in the South Island. During tho year the increase in the North Island was fortynine- members, whilst in the- South Island a decrease of seven was recorded. Tho increase in the aggregate membership of dobs for the past four years was 992. The Wellington Club, with 195 members, has the largest membership in New Zealand. Next in order of numerical strength arc the Carlton Club (Auckland’) ,171, tho Reinucra Club (Auckland) 168. and the Auckland Club 157. The largest centre membership is that of Auckland witli 2.852 members, compared with 1,609 members in tbs Wellington centre, 1.583 in the Christchurch centre, and 1.331 in the Dunedin centre.
