(8.30 a.m.), 4,437 lons, R. Stevenson, from Nauru via Lyttelton. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington,: arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the south express. In order to continue her discharge of cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the Wairuna sailed yesterday atternoon lor Bluff, and will complete discharge at New Plymouth. The steamer Baron Maclay, alter discharging a quantity of Galveston sulphur at Port Chalmers, sailed yesterday afternoon to put out the balance at Lyttelton, New Plymouth, and Wanganui. The Storm, which lias been delayed at Bluff, owing to rain, will not arrive at this port before to-morrow, rsbc loadx out for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, ami Picton. An arrival at this port this evening should be the Gale from Wanganui via ports. The vessel then loads out lor Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. ’ Tito cargo which the Karetu is discharging from Newcastle and Sydney should bo all landed this afternoon, when the vessel is timed to sail at 3 o'clock for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Bluff returning later to Sydney. With a coal cargo from Westport to discharge at this port the Kaiapoi_ is duo hero in the morning from Timaru. She sails on Saturday for Oaniaru. Bluff. Greymouth, and Melbourne. The Wai,piata is expected at Dunedin to-morrow from Auckland, via ports, to discharge general cargo. She then proceeds to Bluff, and will return to Dunedin to load for East Coast ports and Auckland. On Friday the Wmgatui is to leave Auckland for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. , The Calm is due here on June II from Bluff. . . The Kaliika is due at Dunedin on Sunday from Wellington. She will load general cargo on -. Monday for Napier and Gisborne. The P.iako is now timed Lo sail finally from Gisborne to-day for London, via Panama and Newport News. The Waiolapu left Sydney on May 31. (or Vancouver, via Fanning Island. She is due at Fanning Island on Juno 35, and at Vancouver on Juno 30. The Waipahi. from Auckland, is. cine at Rarotonga to-day, and proceeds tiiencc to Mangaia. Aituaki, Ailu, Mauke, and Auckland. The H.M.S. Tahiti, from Sydney, via Wellington and Rarotonga, left Papeete on May 28 for San Francisco, where she is due to-morrow. .She leaves on the return voyage on June 12. After unloading nearly 7,000 tons of raw sugar from Cuba at Chelsea, the steamer Lawbeath left Auckland last Saturday for Westport to replenish her bunkers. From Westport she will go lo Makatea Island to load a phosphate cargo for Honolulu. An arrival at Auckland to-day was the electrically-driven tanker Brunswick, which lias already visited New Zealand. The vessel is from San Pedro, and has a full cargo of bulk oil for discharge into the Atlantic Union Oil Company’s tanks at Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. The TTolmdale was docked at Lyttelton on Tuesday to have a new shaft and propeller fittejj. The vessel is expected at Dunedin to-morrow morning to load general cargo for way ports and Wanganui. AELYBRYN FROM NAURU. The Brynyinars Steam Ship Company’s (Swansea) steamer Aelybryn, from Nauru Island via Lyttelton, arrived this morning and berthed at Port Chalmers to discharge 4,000 tons of phosphates. The Aelybryn was launched at Port Glasgow nine months ago. She was built by Messrs Lithgow’s, Ltd., and engined by Messrs Rankine and Blackmore, of Greenock. She is at present

under charter to Messrs Andrew Weir and Co. for the transporting' of phosphates 4‘rom Nauru Island to Australian and New Zealand ports. Her maiden voyage was made from Ardrossan with a, load of coal for Genoa. From the Italian port she proceeded to Huelva (Spain) and loaded iron ore for Charleston (West Virginia). On discharging at Charleston tbo vessel proceeded to Tampico (Texas), where she loaded bitumen for Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne. From Australia the vessel was despatched to Nauru Island, where she loaded for Auckland and Wanganui. On the present trip she arrived at Ocean Island on May 10 and at Nauru Island tbo following day. She left Nauru Island on May 16 for Lyttelton. Fine weather was experienced until Cape Egmont was reached, when the vessel ran into a. moderate gale with high sens. She shipped muck water. Tli© gale lasted for eighteen hours until she reached Capo Campbell. Her principal dimensions are;—Length. 420 ft: breadth, 52ft; depth, 25.6 ft. She is of 4,473 tons gross. Captain 11. Stevenson is in charge, and has associated with him the following officers;—Chief, Mr T. Ho.pe-Evans; second, Mr C. Bass; third, Mr T. Walker; chief engineer, Mr W. B. Simpson; second, Mr A. Mallani; third, Mr A. J. Eaton; fourth, Mr 1.. Carney; wireless operator, Mr T. Jardin. SUSSEX DELAYED. The Union Company advises that the Sussex has been delayed in Wellington owing to rain, and is now timed to sail on Friday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to discharge the remainder of her cargo from Calcutta and other Eastern ports. SURREY AT AUCKLAND. The Federal Line steamer Surrey, under charter to the A. and A. Line, arrived at Auckland yesterday from New York. She is blunging case oil. and general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. MAIMOA FROM LIVERPOOL. . The Shaw, Snvill, and Albion steamer Maimpa arrived at Auckland on Tuesday morning from Liverpool, via .Panama. The vessel lias general cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at this port about Juno 22. CANADIAN CONQUEROR., The Canadian Conqueror is reported to have cleared Montreal on May 30 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. She is duo at Auckland about July 8. TAIN UT CLEARS COLON. En route from Wellington to London an 1 Southampton the Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Tainui is ro,ported lo have cleared Colon last Thursday. She sailed from Wellington on May 0. IHMUTAKA HOMEWARD BOUND. Cable advice received by the Now Zealand Shipping Company states that the TMmntaka arrived at Las Palmas on June 3 from Wellington, via Montevideo and Bahia, and sailed again on Juno 4 for Southampton and London.
