(Received June 5, at 11 a.m.) .It was announced at Windsor to-day that the King had passed a good night. Yesterday was his sixty-fourth birthday. He spent a comfortable day, with considerable periods of restful sleep. Dr Martyu visited him this morning before the Prime Minister arrived for an audience.

Among thousands of telegrams containing birthday congratulations to the King and wishing him a speedy recovery is one from President Hoover, as follows:—“ To the prayers of your loving and loyal subjects for your speedy restoration to health,, permit me to add my own and those of my fellow countrymen. May that undaunted courage. which has before fortified you bo sustained in your present illness.”
