LORNA SMITH RECITAL
The vocal recital to he given by Miss Lurna Smith in Burns Mall on Monday next should prove of great interest to all lovers ot music. Dunedin’s young contralto lias returned from study abroad with a fine concert equipment, a commanding platform presence, a. fnll-toncd voice of power and range, a naturnl manner, and the ability to express her self in songs of widely differing emotions. Associated ,witli Miss Smith will be Miss Barbara Gibbs, a young and talented English pianist, who will make her first appearnee in New Zealand at this recital, and also Mi PS Margaret H. G awno, accompanist. The programme will cover a. wide range of musical literature, and should be warmly welcomed by all. The boxplan opens on Thursday, as advertised.
