The Dunedin School of Physical Culture, with Mr J. V. Haima as director, lias completed the first year of its existence, and on Thursday evening last celebrated the entry into the second year by a most successful social, held in the Embassy Salon. About 120 couples took part in the dancing to excellent inusuj supplied by Gordon’s Orchestra. The hall was beautifully decorated with black-and-gokl streamers, the colours of the school, and was in fine order for dancing. Songs were rendered by Miss A. Lavender and Mr L. Stubbs, and were much enjoyed by an appreciative audience. Miss Phyllis Anderson acted as accompanist. An interesting'feature of the evening was a display of class dancing by the combined young women’s and married ladies’ classes. This gathering represents the social side of tire work of the school, one of whoso aims isjto promote a spirit of friendliness and harmony among all the members of all its classes.
