OTAGO DEFEATS CENTRAL OTAGO Excellent^ weather conditions ruled on Satnrdhy for tlic match between Otago ami Central Otago, wliich was played at the Anderson’s Hay courts. Play throughout was very even, and the local players carried off the match by a small margin. The Otago team was composed of younger players to give them experience, such champions as S. G. M’Dougall and Miss Pattison being excluded. The visitors showed their superiority in the men’s singles, winning four out of seven games. .In the ladles’ singles the local team carried olf five of the seven games. Miss A. Hackley played excellent tennis against Miss Jolly, and Miss Sonntag had a good victory over Mrs Leash. Miss Keast played a stubborn game against Miss Gilicspio, but was beaten after a plucky light by 9-8.
