The security proposed to be pledged to meet the yearly charges on the said proposed loan and its repayment is an_ apnually recurring Special Rate of Sixpence Halfpenny (6Jrd) in the Pound (£) on the rateable value of all rateable property within Hie Borough of Green Island as appearing on the Valuation Roll in force for the time being. 3. The provision for the repayment of the said proposed Special Loan is that a Sinking Fund of three (3) per centum per annum on the amount of tho said loan shall he provided towards such repayment, and that the said Loan shall be repaid in lull at the expiration of twenty (20) years from the date of the issue of the Debentures to be created in respect of the same. 4. It is proposed to pay out of the said Loan the cost of raising the same, but not tho interest and sinking fund for the first year of the Loan. Dated at Green Island this 18th day of March, 1929. ELECTION OF MEMBERS FOR THE TERM 1929-1931 BY THE PAYERS OF HARBOUR DUES. fU'OMINATIONS, in writing, of Camlii. x dates for Election as Members of the Otago Harbour Board by .tho payers of Harbour Dues—namely, TWO MEMBERS by the payers of Harbour Dues on ships and ONE MEMBER by the payers of Harbour Dues other than dues on ships will be received by the Undersigned up till Noon on WEDNESDAY, the 24th, day of April. 1929. Nomination forms (which may be obtained from tho undersigned) must be signed by two persons, being either electors whose names appear on tho roll of electors qualified to vote at the election in respect of which the member or members are nominated or persons entitled to vole on behalf of such electors. A deposit of three pounds (£3) in cash must accompany each nomination. In the event of more persons being nominated than the number required to be elected, a BALLOT will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the Ist day of May, 1929, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., at the Board’s Office, Birch street. Where harbour dues have been paid by a corporate body tho person to vote on behalf of such body must be appointed in writing under its corporate seal. Where harbour dues have been paid by two or more persons jointly, only one of such persons is entitled to vote, and the one of such persons to vote in respect of such payment must be appointed in writing. Such appointment may be made in the fiira-name, or m the name under which the business of those persons is carried on, by any person authorised or entitled to sign that name. But any firm, one of whose members is entitled to vote at such election, may, if no member of the firm is resident at the place where the election is to be bold, appoint, by writing, under (be firm’s name, some person to vote at such election in respect of the payment of harbour dues by such firm. _ The above-mentioned appointments must be produced when any claim to nominate a candidate, or to vote, is made.
