RELEASE FAILS TO WORK

A thrilling parachute descent was witnessed at Penrith Speedway. Bruce Shipway, an aero pilot, leapt irom his plane at a height of d,4001t. He icll 2,000 ft before ho was able fo make the parachute open. The release of the appliance broke off during the fall, and Shipway had to unlasten the parachute himself. He eventually came safely to ground in the bed of a creek, .stampeding a herd of cattle which was grazing in the vicinity.
