AUSTRALIAN COAL

BOUNTY TO HEW SOUTH WALES VICTORIA OBJECTS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. 'MELBOURNE,' March 6. The Premier (Sir_ William M‘Pherson) told a deputation to-day that if the Prime Minister persists in granting a bounty to the coal industry in order to keep it going in New South Wales it will be made a test matter in the High Court, as ho believes that Mr Bruce’s action is unconstitutional. The Victorian taxpayers were not going to submit to money being taken from their pockets to assist coal mining in another State when a similar concession was not available for the Victorian mines.
