DOLE FOR MIGRANTS

THE BRITISH PROPOSAL PRESS COMMENT ON BILL. Uriia Association-—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 5. The ‘ Daily Telegraph,’ in the course of an editorial, interprets Commander Locker-Lampson’s idea as meaning that the dole would no longer tend to produce inertia because its recipient, being assured of his pittance abroad as at Home,, might reasonably be most enterprising. It adds that there might be much difficulty in persuading the dominions to accept large numbers of migrants still drawing the dole, but the working out of this plan needs further consideration. There is no doubt that the development of migration is an indispensable factor in the reduction of unemployment.—Australian Press Association.
