MOSGIEL BAND CONCERTS
TO THB EDITOR* Sir, —I have on many occasions listened with pleasure to the bands-in the Garden in Dunedin, and all lovers of music must enjoy such treats. I am at a los' to know why the people of Mosgiel cannot enjoy the same pleasure in their park. Wo have as good a band in Mosgiel, as has been proved at the contest, and that is not to bo wondered at, as our bandmaster and bandsmen are putting in a great deal of time, and it appears to be a pleasure to them to do so. It seems to me there is neglect on the part of the authorities of Mosgiel when our children are allowed to play and prance about all round the band stand. Surely the non-player, in the Band Committee have power to put a stop to it. It may not he sc eas.y, as the practice has been carried on for .years. It must he 1 very auuoying to Bandmaster .White
and his men 1 trust steps will bo taken to put a stop to such treatment. The public of Alosgiel has always been liberal In supporting tho band, and to Oe annoyed by children makes the evening extremely unpleasant.—l am, etc., Justice. Alarch 4.
