A lady who kept a parrot had occasion to go out the day she was expecting the coal man, so she told parrot to order six cwt of coal. The parrot forgot the amount and ordered six. tons. When the lady returned she was very angry to see so much coal stacked about, and threw some scalding water over him, which took the feathers head. Later in the day the parson' (who was bald) called to see the lady. As he took his hat off coming into the room the parrot sighed and said: “ Oh, dear, another poor lellow ordered too much coal.”
