BIG DOCK AT CALCUTTA

The Viceroy opened the new King George dock at Calcutta, which provides at present sis additional berths, and will ultimately provide thirty additional berths. The water area of the dock is 24 per cent, greater than the Gladstone dock at Liverpool, and the construction of the first quarter of the full scheme has involved the displacement of 200,000,000 cubic feet of earth. —United Service.
