EMPIRE’S NEW ORGAN

FIRST PERFORMANCE NEXT FRIDAY In conjunction with the presentation of an excellent picture programme, the Christie Unite Organ, which has been erected in the Empire Theatre will provide a musical novelty next Friday. This wonderful instrument which ranks among the most amazing inventions of science and art, is to be played by the well-known organist, Mr Paget Gale, and patrons can look forward to a treat something out of the ordinary. On the picture bill, “ When Fleet Meets Fleet ’ and ‘ The Rush Hour ’ will be the two main attractions. A vivid presentation of the Battle of Jutland forme the background of the romantic story, ‘ When Fleet Meets Fleet,’ which tells of a Gorman commander, married to an English girl, who neglects her for his guns. A young English lieutenant who makes love with her is also a close friend of her husband. On the outbreak of war the wife has threatened to elope with the young lieutenant, but hostilities put a stop to a duel between the two men. Then comes the Battle of Jutland, in which the German commander is killed, and the Englishman wounded and taken to Kiel. Marie Provost harks back to her early days in the films in her latest production, ‘ The Rush Hour,’ which E. Mason Hopper directed. In one sequence Miss Prevost is called upon to ride an aquaplane board behind a fast speed boat. Not since she left the fold of Mack Sjfennett has Miss Provost been given a vehicle wherein as a “ water baby ” she could return to the top of the briny and to say that she enjoyed the part is expressing it mildly. Harrison Ford, David Butler, Seeua Owen, Ward Crane, and Franklin Pangbdhi are listed in the cast.
