Judge Gilfcddev passed through_ Dunedin this morning on his_ way to_ Wellington after conducting a sitting ot tho Native Land Court at Invercargill. Mr Crosby Morris left for Ashburton by the through express to-day. Tho Rev. Tulloch Yuille, accompanied by Mrs and the Masters Yuille, left yesterday by the second express for Auckland to join the Tamaroa, en route for the Old Country, where an extended holiday visit will bo spent. Mr Yuille expects to return to Dunedin about tho end of January, 1930. The position of science master at the Daunevirke High School has been secured by Mr Lyndon Bastings, who is an cxpupil of the Otago Boys’ High School, arid had a successful university career in both Now Zealand and England. Recently he filled the position' of lecturer in physics at Durham College, England. During the war he served in a, number of scientific capacities in the New Zealand medical service, and has travelled widely in England and aboard, studying the organisation and equipment of schools and colleges. He is at present en route to New Zealand. New visitors, to the Brand Hotel include Mr R. Anderson (Antwerp, Belgium), Mr C- L. Hope (Cheshire, England),' Mr and Mrs H. E. Forde, Mr and Mrs J. S. Kinnear (Auckland), Miss K. Aldrich (Takapai), Mr and Mrs H. R. Bussell (Christchurch). Recent arrivals id tho Excelsior Hotel include Mr and Mrs Wilkins, Misses D. and A Wilkins, Messrs H. E. Cook, and W, j. Morland (Wellington), Miss Gwen Hubbard, Mr C. Jamieson, Mr and Mrs W. Andrew, Mr H. S. Skinner (Christchurch), Mr and’ Mrs H. N. Spenco (Patearoa).
