(Received December 20, at 10 a.m.) An authoritative statement may be made soon in connection with the reported intention of Imperial Chemical industries, Ltd., to establish a £5,000,000 plant in Australia for the manufacture ot synthetic ammonia nitrates. The director (Air Todhuiitcr) is now in Australia investigating the possibilities, and he may make bis own decision on the spot. Inquiries have elicited the fact that the company regards Australia as one of tho world’s biggest fields for chemical development. It looms large in Lord Alelchett’s mind.—Australian Press Association.
