A message from Seattle states that two robbers descended upon the First National Bank at Coqnillo (Oregon) and took possession of the hank ns it opened business at 9 o’clock, but a cashier saw them coming, and, dashing into the vault, opened fire with a rifle in reply to the robbers’ fusillade. They snatched £4,000 and ran for a motor car, but they had not gone 50yds before a bullet pierced a tyre. In a running fight one robber was killed, the second was captured, and the recovered. —Australian Press Association.
