THE BEAM SYSTEM

REMARKABLE developments Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 18. Development of the short-wave beam wireless by the multiplex apparatus, iu order to prove that two or three telegraphic messages can bo simultaneously sent by the same radio circuit, iu either direction, as a wireless telephone message, is being completed after a six months’ trial between Bridgewater (Somerset) and Montreal. One set of apparatus, with one aerial can conduct simultaneous t degraph and telephone services. A Marconi officiaD points out that tho new system will enable the beam stations to triple the present traliic. and will probably lead to a reduction of charges for beam wireless. The equipment diminishes fading, thus producing better results for less energy.—London ‘Times Cable.
